The Cave is located in Aqura Mountains, Mount Lebanon around 400 meters above the well known Roueiss Grotto.
The Exploration of the cave revealed around 1 km of cave network with some labyrinth passages; the Importance of the site lies in the archaeological layers where 3 distinctive epoch were established: the first being an early bronze age (~3000 B.C) dated through comparative analysis of pottery and some bone & stone tools, the 2nd is a middle bronze age period (~2250) and the 3rd is a much more recent one and goes back to the end of the franc’s rule in Lebanon (13th century A.D. – Liban Souterrain 3).
