This Karst System is located in the Mountains of Aqura Village at an average altitude of 1600 m; the exploration started in 1988 and led to a series of important new discoveries; more than 10 connecting caves & sinkholes were surveyed and the results were published in the GERSL journal Liban Souterrain;  some of those caves are active systems partially and/or completely submerged with  water all year round e.g Ain Libne with more than 4,5 km of caves network and other cave are completely submerged and required caves diving equipment.
